In the current paper we pretend to analyse the reuse of some Neolithic landscapes and places, by inhabits who lived in the Bronze Age and Iron Age in the River Ave basin, in the northwest of Portugal.

The emphasis will be given to certain hills were there are engraved outcrops with Neolithic Atlantic rock Art (re) visited and reinterpreted, later, through the addition of new signs to pre-existing grammar, with additions or changes of meanings.

These reuses could be interpreted as forms of appropriation of the signs of the past, in periods when they appeared to be new logics of power carried out by ideological, political and socio-economic changes. But the coexistence of signs of different periods, in the same place, may also express certain continuity in the symbolism of certain places in the long duration, which is important to identify and interpret.
